Pesara Pappu/Moong Dal/Green Gram – 1 Cup
Red Chillies – 3 or 4
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves – 4 or 5
Onions – chopped
Garlic – 4
oil – 1 tsp
Turmeric – A Large Pinch
Salt to Taste

How to make pesara kattu
. Add 2 cups of water to the moong dal and let the dal soak for about 30 minutes.
. Pressure cook the dal for till it is mashed.
. In a vessel, heat the oil.
. Add the garlic and wait till they splutter.
. Add the cumin seeds and fry for about a minute.
. Add the onions, slit red chillies, and curry leaves.
. Fry for a minute. Add salt, turmeric, and dal.
. Mix well.
. Serve hot with rice .
